The Chagnon Family History Project
Preserving the story of the Chagnon family from France to New France and the United States through historical research, family stories, photographs, DNA discoveries, and legacy preservation.
The Chagnon Family History Project is an ongoing effort to preserve and share the history, migration, stories, and legacy of the Chagnon family across generations. Through historical records, family photographs, DNA research, and modern preservation methods, this project seeks to ensure that the lives and experiences of past generations are not lost to time.
Now Available – 6th Edition

The newly updated 6th Edition of Chagnon Family History is more than a collection of names and dates, this Edition not only preserves the stories, migrations, photographs, military service, and family connections that shaped generations of the Chagnon family but also brings together years of research into the Chagnon family lineage, tracing its origins from France to Québec and later into the United States. Expanded with historical context, photographs, maps, records, and family narratives, this edition serves as both a family archive and a preservation resource for future generations.

Preservation & Legacy
More Than a Family Tree
Genealogy is more than names and dates. It is the preservation of lives, stories, struggles, migrations, traditions, and memories that has shaped generations.
The Chagnon Family History Project was created not only to document a family line, but also to demonstrate how modern genealogy can preserve a legacy for the future through storytelling, ethical research, DNA analysis, digital preservation, and historical context.
This project reflects the philosophy behind Barbara Beauregard’s TIME Capsule Method™ — helping families preserve, protect, organize, and share their history before it is lost.
