Clara was born on January 11, 1911, in Burlington, Vermont. She was the fifth child born to Narcisse “Nelson” and Delina (Bouchard) Chagnon.

Clara Regina Chagnon married Moses Alfred Valyou on June 1, 1931, in Burlington, Vermont. Moses was born on July 16, 1894.

Clara and Moses had six children, two sons; Martin Valyou 1946-1946 and Alfred Valyou, four daughters; Shirley (Valyou) Gardner 1932-1986, Charol (Valyou) Marshall 1935-2006, Carline Valyou 1936-1940, and Gloria Valyou 1940-1940.

Clara Regina (Chagnon) Valyou is buried with her husband Moses A. Valyou in Holy Family Cemetery in Essex Jct., Vermont.
