Clarence Robert was born on July 3rd, 1918, in Burlington, Vermont. He was the tenth child born to Narcisse “Nelson” and Delina (Bouchard) Chagnon.

Clarence marriage Lorraine Couture on his birthday July 3rd, 1940, in Burlington, Vermont.

Clarence and Lorraine had two sons, Wayne Clarence Chagnon 1941-2004, and Peter Nelson Chagnon1942-2015. They divorced in 1947 in Burlington.

Clarence married his second wife Glenna (Tennien) Cavanaugh on April 2, 1950 in Burlington, Vermont.

Clarence and Glenna had seven children, 5 sons, and 2 daughters, Clarence Robert Chagnon, Richard Allen Chagnon 1950-2001, Delina Irene (Chagnon) Wilson, Steven Edwin Chagnon, Thomas Charles Chagnon, Chester Jerome Chagnon, and Glenna Ann (Chagnon) Richardson.

Clarence enlisted on February 24, 1941. He was a sergeant in the National Guard.

Clarence has several odd jobs until her went to work for the Vermont Gas Systems. He retired from VGS after 30 years of employment.

Clarence was a member of the VFW Post #782. He was a district commander and post commander of the VFW. He also was a member of the Military Order of the Cootie, the 43rd in Infantry Div. Vet Association and IBEW local 300 Electrical workers.

Clarence died January 15, 1981, in Burlington, Vermont. He is buried with Glenna (Tennien) Chagnon in New Mount Calvary Cemetery in Burlington, Vermont
