Origins & Vision
The TIME Capsule Method™ grew out of my years helping family historians preserve their research — and seeing, time after time, how much work is lost because it’s never fully organized or shared. When I was writing Here Today, Gone Tomorrow, I realized that most genealogists, myself included, spend so much time collecting names and documents that we often forget the last, most important step: turning it all into something complete, clear, and lasting.
I wanted to create a framework that makes that process easier — a simple, guiding system that anyone can follow to bring order, meaning, and continuity to their family history. The TIME Capsule Method™ was born from that desire: to help people move from scattered notes and files to a finished legacy that can be passed on confidently.
At its heart, the method blends practical organization with ethical preservation. It bridges traditional research and storytelling with modern tools like AI and digital archiving, so that every family’s story can be both protected and accessible. My vision is to make preservation less overwhelming and more achievable — empowering people to not only document their past, but to build something their descendants will truly treasure.
